January 2015 Tag

Standard

Hello!  Long time, no blog.  The password to this blog was l..o..s..t.., but is now found!  Making tags has fallen by the wayside with the fullness of the rest of my life.  However, during the holiday season, I make tags for the family and have some vacation time, to boot.  So, here we go…

This is my rendition of Tim Holtz’s January 2015 Tag.

My supplies are woefully deficient, but an exercise like this, lets me know what I really would like to have/need to buy.

Instead of a New Year theme, I decided to make a tag for my sister’s birthday at the end of the month.  I used an abstract gold floral tissue paper and adhered it with Mod Podge.  Random acrylic paints were used in red, pink, and berry, which I dabbed on with crumpled tissue paper, spritzed with Walnut Stain.

There was quite the stash of grunge board letters/numbers in my crafting bin that were used, painted gold and misted with Walnut Stain.  The 4 and 8 were gone over with the barn door distress pad and, once again, random glitter that I had on hand was applied over Glossy Accents.  The Spun Sugar distress pen was used around the Chit Chat stickers.

January 2015 Holtz Tag BI had a mirrored snowflake on hand, and since I didn’t have a fun embellishment that fit between “happy” and “48”, I added a chain fringe dangle from the ribbon.

One last look of the entire tag:
